Jerusalem · The Old City

The Old and the Ancient

Step into a story that began three thousand years ago, when David made this city his capital. From the ancient core where it all started, down to the Western Wall and through the lanes of the Jewish Quarter, you don't just visit the history here. You become part of it.

The overview

Where it all began

Few places on earth hold as much history in as little space as Jerusalem.

This is where King David made his capital three thousand years ago, where the Beit Hamikdash once stood, and where the Persians, Greeks, Hasmoneans, Romans, Byzantines and many other civilisations have left their mark since.

I believe a visit to Jerusalem is about more than seeing its history. It is about becoming part of it. For three thousand years Jerusalem has been writing the story of the Jewish people, page after page, and the book is still open. Come and add your line.

FAQ

Before you book

Where do we meet?+

Usually at Jaffa Gate or the Dung Gate depending on your route. I'll send clear directions and a phone number once we've fixed a date.

Is it suitable for children and families?+

Absolutely. I tailor the pace and the stories to whoever's walking with me.

What should I wear and bring?+

Comfortable walking shoes, water and a hat, and modest clothing for the holy sites. For the City of David in particular, water shoes and a torch (flashlight) are encouraged.

Is the tour accessible?+

The City of David and the Old City have many stairs, uneven stones and narrow passageways. Tell me about any mobility needs and I'll plan the route and find a way to make it work for you.

How much does the tour cost?+

Pricing depends on the route and the size of your group. Message me with your dates and who's coming, and I'll send a personalised quote. It doesn't include transport, lunch, entrance tickets or tips.
